Electrolysis Overview

Electrolysis treatments destroy the blood supply and cells necessary for hair growth in targeted follicles. There are three modalities:
Galvanic: Direct current generates lye within the follicle, to destroy the hair growth cells.
Thermolysis: High-frequency current creates heat, which cuts off the follicles' blood supply.
The Blend: This method combines both currents for a more effective and efficient treatment.
The number of treatments needed to obtain your desired results can vary based on many factors. Some factors include - hormones, skin sensitivity, thickness of hair, the density of the hair growth in the treatment area, previous hair removal attempts and location of the hair growth.  ​

​​How long will electrolysis take?
The permananet hair removal journey does take time, and the number of treatments needed to clear an area is different for everyone. Your sessions will become more spaced apart as you go, but depending on your commitment to the process, many people are looking at up to 18 months for satisfied completion.
How does electrolysis work?
An electrologist uses a filament the size of your hair, to apply a minute amount of electricity to the base of each individual hair follicle.  This stops the follicles hair growth cells from being able to germinate within that treated follicle. 
Does it hurt during the Electrolysis Application?
The electrolysis experience is not painless, but our goal is to always make sure you are as comfortable as possible. 
Area of treatment, hormones, sleep, and stress can all effect the intensity of your individual experience. 
For those that need it, 1 hr before their appointment, some clients apply a numbing cream and/or take an Advil or Tylenol to aid in their comfort.
Is electrolysis safe and permanent?
Electrolysis is safe for all skin types and hair colors. It is the only recognized permanent hair removal method as per FDA standards. New hair growth may occur with age,  necessitating occasional cleanup sessions.
Can I switch between electrologists?
Yes, you can choose any electrologist. Due to the time investment to get to your goal of permanently smooth skin,  we advise you choose someone you are comfortable with and has a good technique.

​Are all hairs gone in one treatment?
Every hair follicle is different, and like many things, some can be more stubborn than others. Deep, coarse hairs cannot always be eliminated with one treatment; thus, breaking down the hair growth cells may require addition treatments.
